I am trying to install Office Professional on to a clean install of Win7 Professional on a brand new, never before used SSD drive. These are brand new discs, purchased from Microsoft and come with all the Genuine Microsoft marks on them.
I cannot install Office because it will not get past one or other of the messages about not being able to find office. I have read through countless forum replies and I have tried copying the disc to the desktop and installing it from there and I have tried a clean boot and I have tried using a different cd-drive. I can confirm that the disc is pure, unscratched and freshly sent to me from Microsoft in Singapore. Is it possible to get answers to these two questions please: what is the solution to this totally clean install issue?
And, why is there no mention of this problem in the Office 'known issues' section when there are literally millions of hits on Google and hundreds of hits on this very forum, going back to Office ? Oh, and I have also tried downloading a copy of Office from Digital River, reseller of Microsoft products.

Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Use a new windows user account created as administrator to install office. Once office is successfully installed, you may delete the new windows user account created.

Exactly the same thing happened, although the files it could not find two were different. Try to install Microsoft Office Professional trial from the download link below and check if the same issue occurs.

I also looked in the registry as some forums suggested and, logically, there are no keys listed in the Office section other than the Outlook one used for email. Niranjan I K.
